The commitment
Cost should not be the reason a capable student stops.
eLadder exists for students who are paying their own fees, usually alongside a job, often in a currency that makes a US degree expensive before anything else is considered. Scholarship support is part of the university's purpose rather than a marketing instrument bolted onto it.
Awards recognise potential, purpose and performance — what a student is capable of and what they intend to do with the qualification, not only what they have already achieved.

Published criteria, applied consistently
Every award states what it is for and who is eligible before applications open. Decisions are made against those criteria and against nothing else.
A decision in writing
Successful or not, you are told in writing, with the value and the conditions attached if you are awarded. You will know before you have to commit to fees.
Conditions stated up front
What you must maintain to keep an award, and what happens to it if you pause your studies, is stated when it is offered — not applied later when circumstances change.
Why there are no figures on this page
A scholarship you can plan around is worth more than one you can read about.
We could describe awards in general terms today. But a student comparing institutions turns a percentage into a budget, and a budget into a decision about whether they can study at all. An indicative figure that later moves has cost them that decision.
