Student code of conduct
This code states the standard of behaviour expected of every eLadder student, in every setting where they represent the university.

Read it and tell us what to sharpen. Where a figure is still being set, we name the decision rather than publish a number we would have to change.
Where it applies
This code applies wherever a student is acting as an eLadder student: in the learning platform, in live sessions, in group work, in written communication with staff or students, and in any travel or in-person activity organised by the university.
What is expected
- Treat other students and staff with respect, including where you disagree with them.
- Take part honestly and do your own work, as set out in the academic integrity policy.
- Respect the privacy of others: do not record, screenshot or redistribute a session, a discussion or another student's work without their consent.
- Use the university's systems and accounts only as intended, and never share your credentials.
- Communicate professionally. Our students come from many countries and one another's norms are not always obvious.
What breaches it
- Harassment, bullying, or discrimination against a person or group, in any medium.
- Threatening, intimidating or abusive conduct toward students or staff.
- Disrupting teaching, assessment or the operation of the university.
- Misusing university systems, including attempting to gain access you are not entitled to.
- Misrepresenting your relationship with the university, or making claims on its behalf.
Reporting and process
Anyone may report conduct that breaches this code. Reports are handled through the grievance procedure, and the person reporting is protected from retaliation.
Where behaviour presents an immediate risk to others, the university may suspend access to its systems while the matter is investigated. A suspension of that kind is a precaution, not a finding.
